Graduations 2014 Level 1: Self-discovery

P-YEP (short for Pilgrim Youth Empowerment Programme) is not only a place where young people come, sit and just talk about youth issues but they learn and they learn a lot. We offer basic education training, performing arts, basic entrepreneurship skills as well as basic computing skills. During our sessions we give them English lessons, spelling tests, group work and presentations. After each session, they are then given homework and assignments to complete at home and submit on the next meeting. These homework and assignments are evaluated and marks are then given to the students. These marks have been calculated into a final mark which was then used to determine if the student will commence to the next level or they have to repeat the level again (evaluation is done in accordance to the level of understanding of the homework or assignment given).

To appreciate their hard work, we held a graduation ceremony in which they all received a certificate award and a trophy award.

All the students performed exceptionally well

As the students all performed well, we had to recognised those who worked extra hard. We awarded our top three performers with a larger second trophy to appreciate the effort they have put into their work. These are the top three performers:
Phindile Mchithwa took the third position

Bheki Lukhele took the second position
While Nonosi Octavia Maleka took the first position as the Top Student

Well done to all our top three students......
It was a wonderful ceremony as some of our students have never received awards, this served as a motivation to them.

This is the beginning of a new year and all graduates are going to be moving on to the second level. In this level they will be working on the person they have discovered in the first level.

We have an open day and registrations on the 17th of January 2015 for all those students who want to take this journey with us and they will be doing our level 1 modules. Come and join this group of young, ambitious and hard working people who are determined to make a change in their lives and succeed.......

Outing after a wonderful year 2014

13 December 2014: We just needed to have an outing as a team to reflect on the year we had and also connect on a more relaxed and social level.
Girls relaxing and having girl chats

Often times, young people need such an outing to get to know more about each other and talk about issues relating to their stage of life.
We also used this day as a closing function for the organisation for the year 2014 as we have had a challenging but productive year. A little celebration to thank ourselves for our hard work.

The girls used this moment to take so many photos, they could not all be uploaded on the blog....*laughs*

'Say cheese' ladies

Who wouldn't be so tired after a day of swimming, eating, dancing, talking and laughing? This indeed was a memorable day.....

Pilgrim Youth Empowerment Programme is not only an organisation but a team, a family. We are united by love and the need to succeed in life. Young people still have so many dreams, all they need is a push in the right direction and they grab the opportunity given to them.
This was really a fun day we had as a team.......

We all make a team
